This will be a day-long workshop for anyone who would like to move beyond the preliminaries to develop and sharpen their own writing process.

 

In a small group of only 10 participants, we shall discuss the techniques of writing prose, whether fiction or non-fiction your own unpublished work-in-progress as our primary texts.

 

Each participant will need to supply a beginning piece, the first 800 words of your work. These should  be sent to rawafestival@icloud.com by October 1st, for distribution to the whole group. It will be necessary for everyone to read all the contributions in advance to be ready to critique and discuss in class.

 

You will also need writing materials for taking notes and doing short exercises.

 

The workshop will begin at 10am, and end at 4pm, with short breaks for coffee and lunch.
