Katie Pickles

Katie Pickles is Professor of History at the University of Canterbury. She writes on aspects of gender and empire, feminism, national identity, environment and decolonisation. She has published four books, six co-edited collections and has written over 150 journal articles, chapters in books, high impact popular press articles and book reviews. Her latest book is Heroines in History: A Thousand Faces, recently published by Routledge and as an audio book. Thanks to a Tessa Malcolm Bequest Katie is currently writing a new biography of Kate Sheppard.
