Ross Calman

Ross Calman (Ngāti Toa, Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāi Tahu) is a writer and editor based in Ōtautahi Christchurch. As well as being an author, researcher, translator and podcast host, he also has over 25 years’ experience as a freelance editor. In 2023 Ross received a Doctor of Arts (honoris causa) from the University of Canterbury in recognition of his ‘considerable contribution in the field of Māori history and as a preeminent researcher, editor, translator and publisher’.
