Dan Smith
Daniel Smith has extensive experience working in the areas of collections management, curatorship, exhibitions management and digitisation. He has worked in large and small institutions, in the independent, local authority and university arenas, implementing sound museological practices, procedures and standards. Currently Collections Manager at the Akaroa Museum he curates social history, costume and textiles, fine and decorative arts, photography, industrial history and taonga Maori. His recent book, A Rural Life in Black and White: Donald McKay's Photographs of Banks Peninsula in the 1950s was published by the Akaroa Museum in 2025.
