Robyn Peers
Robyn can never remember a life without reading. Her house is lined with bookshelves and the stack beside the bed never gets any smaller. As she is now retired even more books can be read.
Robyn was born and raised in Christchurch, attending university here graduating with a BA in English and Art History followed by an MA in Art History, specialising in Architecture. Her thesis investigated the development of modernist architecture in Canterbury with a focus on the work of Paul Pascoe. She worked as a teacher throughout a long career, encompassing primary, secondary and tertiary teaching. She has also spent many years as an arts reviewer, first analysing art exhibitions for the Press and more recently drama reviews at the Court Theatre. Her love of drama developed over many years of working with student drama during her teaching career.
Volunteer work for the Ngaio Marsh Trust is an ongoing retirement Interest. In Robyn’s photo she is at the wheel in Ngaio’s XK150 Jaguar!
