Stef Harris
After publishing his first novel Stef Harris wrote and directed a film version, The Waimate Conspiracy, a feature length Maori land claim drama. The film won the Best feature film, Australian Screen Producers Award and Air New Zealand Screen Awards Best feature film.
Stef’s feature film, Blue Moon was official Selection at Cannes Antipodes Film Festival.
His novel Double Jeopardy follows a retired Vermont Sheriff, Frank Winter, who seeks revenge after the unsolved murder of his daughter.
The Girl from Sarajevo is a collection of two novellas about strong women immigrants to New Zealand. Katia Botes, a character in the book, is desperate to become a novelist but her attempt to make that dream come true backfires in a most spectacular fashion. Another character, mail-order bride, Wong Ji Li, arrives to find the man she has come to marry is living with his mother on a derelict farm. She must escape them to begin her kiwi adventure.
